From purchasing green electricity and green electricity certificates (GECs) in the green electricity trading market, utilizing rooftop photovoltaic systems to generate electricity, to replacing shuttle buses with purely electric vehicles, the Future Science City has witnessed the birth of its first "all-green electricity" park.

Located in the Energy Valley of the Future Science City, the State Grid Future Science City Park has realized full usage of green electricity for scientific research and administrative operations. Up to now, the park has purchased 16.072 million kWh of green electricity and 20,270 GECs,  indirectly reducing the consumption of raw coal by more than 15,000 tons and cutting carbon dioxide emissions by more than 30,000 tons.

In addition to purchasing green electricity or GECs, the park also saves energy con and reduces carbon emissions through routine energy-saving measures, rooftop power generation, and other means. Since 2018, the park has gradually replaced shuttle buses with purely electric vehicles, achieving a 100 percent transition to electric energy for shuttle services last year and reducing carbon dioxide emissions by 135 tons over the years.

This year, more parks in the Future Science City aim to realize efficient utilization of energy and reduce carbon emissions. Among them, the National Nuclear Power Sci-tech Research and Innovation Base (Future Science City) project will build a pilot low-carbon park with integrated smart energy-related scenarios.
