The 2025 "Beijing Inclusive Medical Insurance Program" (hereinafter referred to as the "Program") will soon officially open for enrollment.

According to the information provided by the office of the Program, this year's Program will be available, as previously, to all individuals covered by Beijing's medical insurance system, regardless of age, place of household registration, occupation, or health status. The Program will also cover the eligible "new citizens" of Beijing (i.e. individuals having moved to Beijing and residing in the city for entrepreneurship, employment, children's education, reunion with their children and other eligible reasons, who have no household registered in Beijing or have completed the registration no more than three years ago). To be specific, "new citizens" who have their households registered in Beijing or have Beijing's residence permits, provided that they are the insured persons of the basic medical insurance programs of the regions other than Beijing, can enroll in the Program.

Meanwhile, to facilitate enrollment, the Program supports the payment with the money in personal medical insurance accounts. Individuals covered by Beijing's urban employee basic medical insurance program can use the money in their personal medical insurance accounts to pay for their enrollment in the Program. After registering their personal accounts as family-shared ones, individuals can also use the money to pay for their spouses, parents, and children's enrollment in the Program.

As the only urban tailored commercial supplementary medical insurance program launched under the supervision of the People's Government of Beijing Municipality, "Beijing Inclusive Medical Insurance Program" is closely associated with basic medical insurance. It is an essential constituent of Beijing Municipality's multi-tiered medical insurance system, aiming to further ease the burden of high medical expenses on insured persons.
