On December 30 and 31, 2023 the spotlight shone on the Shijingshan District Cultural Center as it hosted the "Art Shijingshan" 2024 New Year Symphony Concert.

This concert featured two internationally acclaimed orchestras: the Armenian State Symphony Orchestra and the China National Opera House Symphony Orchestra.

According to the reporting, this concert achieves three "first": the inaugural performance of the Armenian State Symphony Orchestra in China, the first-ever collaboration between these two global orchestras, and the Shijingshan District Cultural Center's premiere as a venue for world-class orchestra performances since its opening, which demonstrated the district's prowess in fostering international cultural exchanges.

Under the baton of Sergey Smbatyan, Artistic Director and Principal Conductor of the Armenian State Symphony Orchestra, alongside the winners from the 19th Khachaturian 120th Anniversary International Violin Competition, the live audience was treated to an enchanting fusion of classical and contemporary, Eastern and Western musical influences.

The live performance showcased Mozart's Violin Concertos No.4 and No.3, classic pieces by Khachaturian and Strauss, excerpts from Bizet's Carmen opera, and enduring works by Tchaikovsky. Bringing the concert to a close was the "Spring Festival Overture", inviting everyone to embrace the new year with the joy of music.
