As one of the five ecological conservation areas in Beijing, Pinggu District shares a resemblance with other ecological conservation areas while also having its unique advantages. I will provide a brief overview from four perspectives.
In terms of geographical location, Pinggu is located in the easternmost part of Beijing, serving as the eastern gateway of the capital. It is also the place where the first ray of sunshine rises in Beijing. Pinggu is adjacent to Shunyi and Miyun districts in Beijing, Jizhou District in Tianjin, and Sanhe City and Xinglong County in Hebei, and is located at the geometric center of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Region. It is also close to Beijing Municipal Administrative Center in Tongzhou District, Beijing Capital International Airport, and Tianjin Port. Currently, Beijing Subway Line 22 and Chengde-Pinggu Expressway are under accelerated construction. With its unique location adjacent to Tianjin and Hebei, close to the downtown area of Beijing but not within, and its well-connected transportation system, Pinggu can provide enterprises with a more open and convenient environment for investments.
In terms of ecological resources, Pinggu is Beijing's first district recognized as a "National Forest City", with a forest coverage rate of 67.3 percent. In recent years, the peach blossom jellyfish which are known as "pandas in the water", and reed parrotbills which are also rare among the large birds, have frequently appeared in Pinggu. Therefore, as an important ecological barrier for the capital, Pinggu's greatest value lies in its ecological diversity which presents substantial potential. There is a saying that wherever there is beautiful scenery, there will be new economic opportunities. The green and livable ecological environment can provide a fertile ground for enterprises to invest without worries.
As for its cultural heritage, Pinggu does not only possess lush mountains and lucid waters but is also home to rich cultural and historical heritage. It reflects the Chinese nation and Chinese civilization, bearing the 7,000-year-old Shangzhai Culture, 5,000-year-old Xuanyuan Culture, and 3,000-year-old bronze culture. Founded as a county 2,200 years ago, Pinggu has also been the carrier of Taoist culture and the Great Wall culture for 1,000 years. It can be said that Pinggu, with its long history and diverse cultural highlights, is home to a unique and brilliant cultural matrix that dates back to thousands of years ago yet never fades. Pinggu's cultural background demonstrating both antiquity and vibrancy enables investors to live and work comfortably in this district.
When it comes to the growth rate, in recent years, we have targeted superb goals around high-tech agriculture, high-volume logistics, and trendy leisure experiences, and have made every effort to promote high-quality economic and social development. Since 2022, Pinggu District has maintained the first place among its counterparts in Beijing for its GDP growth rate for six consecutive quarters, achieving effective improvement in economic quality and reasonable growth in quantity. It can be said that Pinggu, at present, has entered a critical period of growth and development, teeming with business opportunities and vibrancy. Now is the perfect time to invest in Pinggu, with its favorable geographic positioning and support from the policies and government, success is well guaranteed.
