Overview
The Beijing China-Germany Economic and Technological Cooperation Demonstration Zone is the first and only Sino-German industrial park featuring "economic and technological cooperation" in China. It was approved by the National Development and Reform Commission, led by Beijing, and implemented in Shunyi District. The zone supports Beijing's roles as an international exchange hub and a science and technology (S&T) innovation center, focusing on economic and technical cooperation between China and Germany. It is committed to developing "3+1" leading industries: new energy and intelligent vehicles, intelligent equipment, digital economy, and advanced manufacturing services, based on China-Germany (China-Europe) complementary advantages. To date, the zone has attracted over 110 German-funded and affiliated enterprises, with a combined industrial scale of approximately CNY 40 billion. It is home to China's first wholly foreign-owned insurance asset management company and Beijing's first foreign-invested vocational skills training institution in the intelligent manufacturing sector, initially forming a sound ecosystem for German enterprises.

Planning Area
The demonstration zone primarily encompasses the 20 square kilometers Beijing China-Germany Industrial Park, designed as a significant platform for two-way economic and technological exchanges and innovation cooperation between China and Germany/Europe. The southern section, spanning eight square kilometers, features three million square meters of R&D buildings designed to house German corporate headquarters for R&D, business operations, and financial services. It accommodates German enterprises such as Bosch and Allianz and includes supporting facilities like international talent apartments, the Sino-German International Conference and Exhibition Center, and German-style restaurants. The northern section covers 12 square kilometers, underpinned by 260 hectares of industrial land. It revitalizes old and inefficient factories into modern German-style industrial spaces, supporting intelligent and green manufacturing. The area has gathered industry leaders such as Mercedes-Benz New Energy Vehicles and WILO, as well as hidden champions in specialized fields. Based on Shunyi District's strengths in international services, leading industries, and spatial resources, the demonstration zone establishes a spatial framework characterized by "business synergy, coordinated spaces, and industry-city integration". It connects the southern and northern sections through a "technology-service-industry" development corridor and implements the demonstration zone strategy covering Shunyi District.
