The 2023 "Beijing Inclusive Medical Insurance Program", a supplementary medical insurance program, was opened for enrollment on November 1. Residents in the city can sign up on the official WeChat account of "Beijing Inclusive Medical Insurance Program" (北京普惠健康保) to make application. The latest update allows the use of the funds in personal medical insurance accounts to pay for this program.

Each applicant needs to pay CNY 195 a year for the 2023 "Beijing Inclusive Medical Insurance Program". The 2023 program has significant improvements in the following four aspects. (1) Eligibility has been widened to include holders of Beijing hukou and holders of Beijing residence permits who have already been enrolled in basic medical insurance programs in other regions. (2) Deductibles have been lowered, with optimized service related to specifically listed drugs. (3) The service of rapid online reimbursement provides more convenience, and procedure has been simplified to shorten the reimbursement process. (4) Health care management services have been developed to satisfy the needs of people of all ages, particularly senior citizens, women and children, regardless of whether they are outpatients or inpatients.

As of November 1, individuals in the Beijing Urban Employee Basic Medical Insurance Program can use the funds in their personal medical insurance accounts to pay for their enrollment in the "Beijing Inclusive Medical Insurance Program". From December, an individual can use such funds to pay for the enrollment of immediate family members (spouse, parents and children), who are eligible for the benefits of basic medical insurance in Beijing Municipality, in this program after changing the personal medical insurance account into one shared by immediate family members.
