If you are a foreign professional talent (not based on the credit score system) who has already obtained the Notification Letter of Foreigner's Work Permit, your employer can apply for your Foreigner's Work Permit according to the following steps.

This guide is applicable to types 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 of foreign professional experts (Class B) as described in the Classification Standard for Foreigners Working in China.


►One original visa (Z or R) or valid residence permit (paper/electronic) held by the applicant. The applicant's passport (or other international travel documents) with visa page, signature page, entry stamp and residence permit. Note: Except for special circumstances such as loss of passport, the passport must be the same as the one held by the applicant to apply for the Notification Letter of Foreigners Work Permit.

► One (paper/electronic) original employment contract, which was not provided for the application of the Notification Letter of Foreigner's Work Permit, must be verified and submitted by now. The content must include the work location, work content, salary, period of employment, position, and seal (signature) page.

►One (paper/electronic) original physical examination form or health examination certificate for overseas personnel as issued by China's inspection and quarantine institution, which was not provided for the application of the Notification Letter of Foreigner's Work Permit, must be verified and submitted by now. The health examination certificate must have been issued within the last six months.

All original paper materials and Chinese translations must be uploaded in their original color format to the service system for foreigners working in China, http://fwp.safea.gov.cn/.

Eligibility

► Foreigners who are 18 years old or above and healthy, do not have a criminal record, have an employer and necessary professional skills or knowledge required for the employment

► Foreigners who are in the industry needed for China's economic and social development, and are professionals urgently needed

► The laws and regulations on the employment of foreigners in China shall prevail.

►Foreign Talents should be professionals who are urgently needed according to the requirements of their position and for China's economic and social development in line with the Guidance Catalogue of Foreigners Working in China. They should be no more than 60 years old, hold a bachelor's degree or higher, and have at least two years of relevant working experience. These requirements may be relaxed for those who are in particular demand, regarded as innovative entrepreneurial talents, professional and technical talents, outstanding foreign graduates, or in conformity with the points-based system and the intergovernmental protocol and agreement. Please refer to the Evaluation Criteria for Foreigners Employed in China (Trial) for more information by visiting http://fwp.safea.gov.cn/

►All non-Chinese certification materials submitted must be provided along with Chinese translations and stamped with the official seal of the employer (except for passport or international travel documents). The reception authority or decision-making authority reserve the right to request the employer to submit a corrected version if there are any discrepancies between the Chinese translation and the original.
