Starting March 26, China's civil aviation sector will implement its flight plan for the 2023 summer-autumn aviation season. After the season shift, the average number of approved daily flights will go up to 1,134 flights out of Beijing Capital International Airport and 936 out of Beijing Daxing International Airport. Numbers for both airports are somewhat flat compared to last year, but both hubs are launching a variety of new routes to welcome the new season.

Beijing Capital International Airport will feature six new international routes to Minsk, Warsaw, Nha Trang, Phnom Penh, Amsterdam, and Helsinki, and 20 new domestic routes – to such cities as Harbin, Korla, and Kashgar. Beijing Daxing International Airport will see 14 new international routes to Dallas, Riyadh, Sabah, and other cities and 55 new domestic routes to such cities as Yichun, Yancheng, and Fuyun. Statistics show 1,539 routes used in the summer-autumn aviation season at Beijing Capital International Airport and 515 at Beijing Daxing International Airport. The newly-opened air routes do not necessarily mean that new flights will be put into operation, however, as this is subject to the decisions of airlines.

Many airlines have successively launched their flight plans for the new aviation season, increasing routes or the frequency of flights. Air China will open a new Beijing-Xi'an-Astana route and, from March 26, will also resume routes such as Beijing-Rome, Beijing-Osaka, and Beijing-Ho Chi Minh City. China Eastern is launching new domestic routes, including Beijing Daxing-Changsha, Beijing Daxing-Xishuangbanna, Beijing Daxing-Haikou, and Beijing Daxing-Hefei-Boao, and will increase the frequency of flights along the Beijing Daxing-Hong Kong route to one round trip per day.

At Beijing Daxing International Airport, China Southern is further optimizing its flight plans to Guangzhou and Shenzhen, scheduling 16 flights to Guangzhou and 14 to Shenzhen per day. More flights have also been scheduled along the Chengdu and Pudong routes, with a new route opened from Beijing Daxing to Moscow. China Southern will also resume its Beijing Daxing-Tashkent route as of March 27, and will launch international routes to London and Osaka soon after.

Hainan Airlines announced that this season it will open new routes such as Beijing-Wenzhou, adding that there are more than eight daily flights on average for routes such as Haikou to Beijing and Sanya to Beijing. Hainan Airlines will also increase the frequency of flights to one flight per day along several existing international and regional routes, such as Beijing-Brussels.

China United is launching 14 new routes, including Beijing Daxing-Yanji, and will resume seven routes, including Beijing Daxing-Hailar and Beijing Daxing-Xiamen. Dutch airline KLM also recently announced that it will resume and increase flights bound for Beijing, Shanghai, Hong Kong, and Taipei. As for the Beijing-Amsterdam route, KLM will schedule six flights per week in the new aviation season and one flight per day starting May 26.
