On April 10, the Tiananmen Management Committee released a notice on visits to the Tiananmen area. Tourists are advised to know the following information in advance:

I. Book a visit to the Tiananmen Square, National Museum of China, Palace Museum, and Chairman Mao Memorial Hall at least one day in advance via designated channels respectively (tourist groups are required to make a reservation for the Tiananmen Square at least 12 hours ahead). Staggered trips are encouraged.

II. Make a reservation for observing the flag-raising ceremony. Tourists need to book a time slot one to nine days in advance on the Tiananmen Square Visit Reservation Platform.

III. Tourists are required to visit the Tiananmen Square or observe the flag-raising ceremony by the scheduled date and time. Otherwise, they would be denied for entry.

IV. It is strictly forbidden to carry any dangerous goods, restricted tools, and banned items, as well as low, slow and small aircraft, lighters and other items that may affect social order and public safety.

V. Group entrance. Tourist groups may enter the Tiananmen Square in an orderly manner via the southeast or southwest group entrance under the guidance of the on-site staff. Tour guides shall prepare required documents in advance for on-site inspection, assist the staff in verifying the number of tourists in the group, and remind tourists not to carry banned items.

VI. Visit route: One-way route from Jinshui Bridges of Tiananmen Square in the south to the Meridian Gate of the Forbidden City in the north. Tourists need to travel from the south gate toward the north while visiting the Zhongshan Park and Beijing Working People's Cultural Palace during holidays such as the May Day and National Day, as well as important meetings and events taking place in the Tiananmen area.

VII. Civilized visits. Tourists are encouraged to respond to the call of "no garbage, no smoking" in the Tiananmen Square, voluntarily go for civilized trips, and take personal protective measures to maintain public order and sanitary environment.
