In 2022, Beijing Expo Park International Pavilions A and B were transformed into the "Snow Crystal Palace" and served as the awards plaza for the Beijing Winter Paralympics. At present, projects related to water, land, and air sports are in progress at the Beijing Expo Park to build the park into a comprehensive sports park including an intelligent outdoor sports park, an aviation flight campsite, a center for water sports, and a cycling themed park.

On land

Newly installed intelligent sports equipment near Gate 1 of the Beijing Expo Park, the latest in advanced technology, includes a big screen displaying performance statistics and an intelligent AI recognition spot marker table along the runway.

The Beijing Expo Park also plans to transform International Pavilion B into a special indoor sports venue equipped with standard courts for basketball, volleyball, and tennis among other games, zones for archery and fencing, and an indoor climbing wall. The Beijing Expo Park is currently building open water sports centers in the Guihe Bay and Guirui Lake activity areas at Gate 8 for non-powered, pollution-free water sports such as kayaking, paddle boarding, and sailing. Fishing bases will be established for fishing enthusiasts, visitors can also take part in ice skating there when it gets cold.

In the air

With approval for its flight airspace, the Beijing Expo Park is planning to build an aviation sports center, construct runways and aprons, and renovate the P5 parking lot for microlights, model airplanes, drones, hot air balloons, blimps, and other flying vehicles. Due to its advanced facilities, the park can also host outdoor aviation sporting events and training sessions as well as projects related to model cars, model boat remote control sightseeing, etc.
