On October 26, Beijing Municipal Bureau of Culture and Tourism released ten sightseeing and four cycling routes themed "Season of Falling Leaves — Strolling in Beijing to Discover the Beauty of Ginkgo and Culture".
This is the second consecutive year the "Strolling inBeijing" boutique tourism-cultural routes have been released since their launch in 2020. The recommended routes have been well received by the general public and tourists.
The ten themed routes:
1. Diaoyutai 2. Zhongshan Park 3. Five-Pagodas Temple 4. Dajue Temple 5. The Temple of Earth (also referred to as Ditan Park) 6. The Old Summer Palace (Yuanming Yuan) 7. Sanlitun East Fifth Street 8. Yonghe Temple (Yonghe Lamasery) 9. Imperial Palace Wall Ruins Park (Huangchenggen) 10. Zhanggezhuang
The four cycling routes:
Route 1: Along Yongding River Greenway
Start from the south gate of Shougang Park, cross New Shougang Bridge, pass the Winter Olympics Park, and follow the Waterfront Park Landscape Avenue south to Beijing Garden Expo Park. This route is around 10-kilometerlong.
Route 2: Through Beijing West Oxygen Bar
The route starts at Tanzhe Temple, ending at Qianling Mountain via BaqiCave. The total distance is around 13kilometers.
Route 3: Cultural tour along the north sectionof the Central Axis
Start at the Olympic Forest Park, go through the Beijing Olympic Park, pass the Bird's Nest, Water Cube, Yuan Dadu City Wall Ruins Park, Temple of Earth Park, Yonghe Temple, Bell Tower, Drum Tower, Imperial Palace Wall Ruins Park, and Qianmen, endingon Qianmen Avenue. The total distance is around 20 kilometers.
Route 4: Along the Forbidden City's Moat
Start from Ming City Wall Ruins Park, pass through Zuo'anmen Gatetower, Longtan Lake, the Temple of Heaven, Temple of Agriculture (Xiannongtan), Taoranting, Daguan Yuan, Jinzhongdu Park, and Tianning Templeand finally arrive at Tianning No.1 Cultural and Technological Innovation Park in Xibianmen. The total distance is around 13.5kilometers.
