With the Labor Day holiday approaching, Yanqing District held a media briefing on April 18 at the China Pavilion in Beijing Expo Park, announcing that, during the Labor Day holiday this year, more than 100 culture and tourism-themed activities, including spring outings, flower viewing trips, and the activities involving local food tasting and farming experiences, will be launched in Yanqing.

Beijing International Garden Festival will open soon at Beijing Expo Park

Beijing Expo Park has become a new Internet-popular attraction in Yanqing. During the Labor Day holiday, Beijing International Garden Festival will be launched in the park, providing visitors with a feast of flowers. Tulips, begonias, and peonies will gradually bloom in the park, with 50 high-quality varieties of flowers and 500,000 tulips on display. According to a person in charge of the park, a culture festival featuring begonias will soon kick off following the Tulip Culture Festival. In addition, more than 50,000 peonies in different colors will also bloom. The Strawberry Music Festival will also be held during the short holiday for three consecutive days, with a larger venue and a more dazzling lineup of musicians, including those of folk, rock, pop and other genres.

The Hundred-li Lake and Mountain Gallery Scenic Area in Yanqing, also known as the "Little Norway" in China, will be renovated during the Labor Day holiday. The scenic area will host the Longevity Culture Festival for Thousands of Families and the Hundred-li NICE Coffee Festival. Tourist services will continue to be improved, with the launch of the annual passes and a tour bus line for the scenic area. To ease traffic congestion in the scenic area during the holiday, the tour bus will start at Yanqing High-speed Railway Station at 7:00, pass by Yongning Ancient Town, to reach the scenic area, shuttling between the attractions in the scenic area.

Fly over the Great Wall at a low altitude and get a bird's-eye view of Yanqing

The Great Wall is also one of the classic attractions in Yanqing. Badaling Airport is located at the foot of the Badaling section of the Great Wall. It only takes one minute to fly from the airport to the airspace above the Badaling section. The airport covers an area of about 388 acres, with an 800-meter-long runway, a 12,000-square-meter-large concrete apron, and a 100-acre-large grass apron. There are currently nine flight companies serving the airport with more than 20 airplanes.

During the Labor Day holiday, Badaling Airport will continue to offer sightseeing flight tours, flying experiences, and high-altitude skydiving. After climbing the Badaling Great Wall, visitors can take a low-altitude sightseeing flight over the Great Wall to enjoy the scenery of Yanqing from above and experience the joy of flying.

Night tours in Yanqing

Visitors can get close to nature during the day and partake in an abundant variety of night tour activities after dusk. Starting from the Labor Day holiday this year, the Badaling Night Great Wall will be open to the public every night, instead of just on Fridays and Saturdays and during statutory holidays. In Chadao Ancient Town, three immersive theatrical plays with enhanced interactive experiences will be on stage every night during the holiday.

According to the relevant person in charge of Yanqing's International Grape Exhibition Garden, during the Labor Day holiday, more than 100 kinds of food products will be available for visitors, as well as music festivals, concerts, and other entertainment activities, allowing tourists to enjoy relaxing and leisurely evenings. The Starry Night City area in the International Grape Exhibition Garden will be open from 17:00 to 22:00 daily, starting from April 22 and lasting until October.
