The Regulations of Urban Regeneration in Beijing Municipality came into force on March 1, 2023. After being selected as one of the Best Practice projects at the first Beijing Urban Regeneration Forum, Shougang Park now is a new urban living space demonstrating confidence, energy, and vitality.

The park has seized the opportunities brought by the Beijing 2022 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games to make breakthroughs and become a model of urban regeneration facilitated by the Winter Olympic Games. When visitors mount the No. 3 Blast Furnace and look down at the park, they will find that the former old industrial zone has become a vibrant space, where reading areas, exhibitions, fine food, and performances are available. The diverse consumption choices have brought Shougang Park closer to residents' daily lives in western Beijing.

Shougang Park seeks to take more effective measures to gather industries, implement major projects, achieve sustainability of the achievements of the Beijing 2022 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games, and continue to set up a new urban renewal landmark with the concept of "Together for a Shared Future".
Shougang Park is not only a popular spot for visiting but also an urban space for regeneration, where the revival of industries is being accelerated. At present, the renewal and transformation are still in progress, allowing the park to expand its capacity to promote industrial development. Besides, industries such as science fiction and metaverse have become new symbols of Shougang Park's industrial renewal.

In 2020 and 2021, two consecutive sessions of China Science Fiction Convention took place in Shougang Park. Since then, it has been a focal point for professionals in the science fiction industry and science fiction fans to exchange ideas. In 2021, Shougang Park set up a brand new science fiction industry cluster. In August 2022, ZGC Science Fiction Industry Innovation Center was inaugurated. To date, ZGC Science Fiction Industry Innovation Center has attracted over 60 enterprises relevant to hard science fiction (Hard SF) creation and deep tech innovation.

In 2021, the China International Fair for Trade in Services (CIFTIS) took up two venues for the first time and Shougang Park was one of them. During the 2021 CIFTIS, Shougang Park integrated the demands of the CIFTIS venue and its own industrial style and natural scenery in a better way. The former industrial sites, including the cutting workshop, repair workshop, and dedusting workshop, were transformed into exhibition halls for visitors around the globe.

The achievements of the Beijing 2022 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games have contributed to a thriving winter sport economy and also made Shougang Park flourish after the Games. In 2023, the park plans to make the most of these achievements and ensure the sustainability of facilities and venues of the Games, such as the Big Air Shougang and the National Winter Sport Training Center. Shougang Park will also develop various business models and operations to support the transformation of sports venues into integrated venues for cultural activities, business, tourism, sports events, and exhibitions, to organize more activities of larger scales.

Nowadays, the name "Shougang Park" usually reminds people of the Beijing 2022 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games, winter sports, popular spots, and other stylish elements, instead of the scenes featuring industrial production in the old factories. The Big Air Shougang is now a symbol of the charm of winter sports, while a large number of commercial projects have been implemented. What's more, modern self-driving vehicles are running here and there in Shougang Park. After years of renewal, Shougang Park now is a comprehensive service area for high-end industries covering business, science and technology, sports, and cultural tourism.
