From March 5th to May, the official Weibo accountof Beijing Municipal Administration Center of Parks(畅游公园) will continuously release guidance for blossom viewings, introducing knowledge on flowering periods and recommending sites for sightseeing.

Winter jasmine

Winter jasmine blooms from late winter through early spring with a vibrant yellow color. The scenery of blossoming flowers against the background of gardens, lakes and mountains brings a picturesque spring vibe.

Flowering period: from early March to early April

Sightseeing spots:

The Summer Palace, Tiantan Park (Temple of Heaven), Zhongshan Park, Fragrant Hills Park, Beihai Park, JingshanPark, Taoranting Park, Yuyuantan Park and the Museum of Chinese Gardens and Landscape Architecture.

Forsythia blossom

Forsythia flowers, with a long flowering period and abundant flowers, contain slender and delicate branches that feature radiant yellow colors .

Flowering period: from mid-to-late March to April

Sightseeing spots:

The Summer Palace, Tiantan Park (Temple of Heaven), Beihai Park, Fragrant Hills Park, Jingshan Park, Taoranting Park and Zizhuyuan Park.

David's peach

David's peach (amygdalus davidiana) that blossoms along the stream is a sign of the early spring, and can often be spotted in the Beijing Botanical Garden.

The Summer Palace, Beijing Botanical Garden, Beihai Park, Tiantan Park (Temple of Heaven), Zhongshan Park, Jingshan Park, Taoranting Park, Zizhuyuan Park, Yuyuantan Park and the Museum of Chinese Gardens and Landscape Architecture.

Plum blossom

Zhongshan Park has a plum garden with an area of 4,000 square meters, which is one of the best scenic spots for plum blossomsin Beijing. At Fragrant Hills Park, more than 100 plum blossom trees are planted with flower varieties named Hongyan Gongfen, Danlun Zhusha and Taohong Taige. Meanwhile, in the Beijing Botanical Garden, there is a spectacular scene  known as the "sea of flowers" where hundreds of plum trees blossom all together.

Yulan magnolia

In early spring, Magnolia biondii is the first to blossom among all magnolia species. There are plenty of magnolia trees in Beijing municipal parks with a long planting history of such trees in the Summer Palace, Tiantan Park (Temple of Heaven) and the Beijing Botanical Garden.

Cherry blossom

Cherry blossoms are a common sight  in Beijing municipal parks. Among all these parks, Yuyuantan Park is the best site for viewing these majestic flowers. Due to different species, these cherry trees in Yuyuantuan Park blossom in turn lasting for a month.
