Born and raised in Beijing, Fang Bo has a special affection for this city. 2. Gold Medal Docent Xiao Zhen

Xiao Zhen is a university professor who specializes in tourism management. At the same time, he is also a professional trainer of tour guides. In recent years, Professor Xiao has devoted himself to the perfect combination of tour guide and teacher into a study tour counselor. As a Beijing native, he not only likes to take students to appreciate the splendor of imperial buildings such as the Palace Museum, the Summer Palace, and Prince Kung's Palace Museum but also is willing to travel, view, and explore museums and former residences of celebrities according to the study schedule and teaching materials of students. 3. Docent Song Tiegang

Song Tiegang is a Beijing native, born in the 1970s, and has been a Communist Party member with over 20 years of standing. After working for 17 years at Shougang Group, Song Tiegang decided to change his career to become an honorable tour guide and won a silver medal in the Beijing Tour Guide Competition in 2018. Song Tiegang's zeal for the profession of tour guide lies in the mountains and rivers, but the imperial garden - the Summer Palace has occupied a large amount of his time and energy. The beauty of the scenery here makes people stop their steps and the vicissitudes of history arouses people's deep thoughts. Being considerate and thoughtful, Song Tiegang always explains the profound history in simple terms which is easy to understand. The Summer Palace is not only a beautiful and elegant garden with romantic scenery but also a place bearing witness of the painful modern history of China. 4. Gold Medal Docent Liu Jingping

Liu Jingping, courtesy name "Zicheng", pseudonym "Chuandao Jushi", who loves culture and tourism since he was young, is now the Director of the Department of Tourism Management of Shougang Institute of Technology. When he was a child, he visited the Ming Tombs and was so fascinated by the guidebook that he wouldn’t put it down. He was specialized in art in his twenties and resolutely came back to China from Australia after receiving a master's degree. Then he has fully devoted himself to the teaching and dissemination of Chinese culture. Liu Jingping is good at presenting the Palace Museum/the Summer Palace for family tours and study tours. From a "multi-disciplinary perspective", Liu is able to interpret the cultural connotation of the Palace Museum, including knowledge of physics, ancient astronomy, philosophy, horticulture, architecture, historical geography, history, mathematics, art, modern management, economics, ancient architecture, color painting restoration, and other disciplines.

5. Docent Zhang Jiasheng

Zhang Jiasheng, a “National Senior Tour Guide”, joined the tour guide business in the 1990s and has been working in this industry for 28 years so far. In the past three decades, Zhang Jiasheng has not stopped studying and exploring the history of Ming and Qing dynasties, imperial architecture, and Buddhist culture. He has taken Buddhist groups to India, Nepal, and other places for more than 40 times, and has been to Tibet several times. Cao Zhenshuo is a professional tour guide who has been working in this industry for 12 years. He attaches great importance to and devotes himself to promoting the healthy development of the tour guide profession, and takes the career of working as a docent at the Palace Museum as his lifelong goal. In the eyes of the tourists, Cao Zhenshuo is an enthusiastic, cheerful, and helpful person. He is a National Gold Medal Tour Guide who enjoys studying Beijing's traditional food, beverage, and entertainment. He has been to 28 countries and won gold medals in the Beijing Regional Tour Guide Competition and the National Tour Guide Competition in one year without interrupting his own job. Cao Zhenshuo's tour guiding principle is to“guide a tourist group like creating a piece of artwork and provide the customers with unprecedented joyful experience”.

8. Gold Medal Docent Ye Liyang

Ye Liyang is a senior tour guide who passed the Test for English Majors–Band 8 (TEM-8). He worked as the leader of outbound tourist groups for many times, used to be an English teacher training tourist group leaders, and served as a volunteer Chinese teacher at the Confucius Institute of Eötvös Loránd University in Hungary. He not only has profound experiences but also traveled to various European countries in his free time after work, perceiving the great changes brought about by diversified cultures to his spiritual world, which also adds more breadth to the contents of his narration in the future. Ye Liyang believes that a tour guide should not only narrate history and disseminate culture, but also should incorporate what he or she has seen, heard, and felt into the narration, providing foreign tourists with a vivid impression of the charm of integration of different cultures in a humorous way.

9. Docent: Meng Da

Meng Da, belonging to the “Xiang”-named generation, is a 75th generation descendant of Mencius. Meng Da is a professional tour guide who is devoted to studying the origin and development of old Beijing’s Hutong and has made the research about the historical evolution of Hutong as his lifelong pursuit. He is a docent who enjoys strolling in the 25 sites under historical and cultural protection in Beijing. Meng is a person with an exquisite, gentle, and polite character. Meng Da spent five years traveling through the Hutongs and alleys of Beijing, compiling a dozen books of handwritten notes. In 2017, Meng Da set up the“Meng Da Beijing Tour Guide Studio”, a tour guide branch of Beijing Tourism Industry Association, to promote and inherit Beijing's Hutong culture. He looks forward to visiting Hutongs with you, talking with you about the past and present of Hutongs and the life of ordinary people in Hutongs.

10. Docent: Wang Renlong

Born in the 1980s, Wang Renlong is a big boy born and raised in Nanluoguxiang of Beijing. He was born with profound familiarity and love to this city. As a Beijing native, he lived in a Hutong in Beijing for many years. He not only has deep feelings for Beijing's imperial city culture but also can talk about the daily life and folk customs of old Beijing with great familiarity. Wang Renlong wants to share more little-known Hutong culture with more tourists and provide all people with a better understanding of the ancient Beijing city so that they can feel about the charm and quintessence of this city with thousand years of history.

Jiang Wei has been working in the tour guide industry for nearly 30 years and has won the honorary title of "Gold Medal Tour Guide" many times. With rich working experience and a serious and responsible working attitude, she has all along insisted on the working style of“striving for perfection and being meticulous” and summed up the service mode of“putting people first + personalization” and the tour guiding technique of“principle + flexibility”. Every time she works as a tour guide, Jiang Wei does her best to regulate her own tour guiding conduct, takes the business of tourists as her own business, and serves tourists in a warm and thoughtful way, with an aim to provide tourists with high-quality, high-level, people-oriented and considerate tour guide service.
