The Summer Palace Ice Rink is the largest natural ice rink in the city area of Beijing. With a total area of 700,000 square meters, the ice rink provides a large and broad ice surface for citizens to experience winter sports. The Summer Palace Ice Rink is divided into three areas, namely the main lake area of Kunming Lake, the Suzhou Street Lake area and the west embankment ice slide area. The ice sports are themed with fitness and entertainment, which is suitable for teenagers and kids.

3. Beihai Park Ice Rink

With an area of 15,000 square meters, the Beihai Park Ice Rink is renowned as the "Winter Palace". It used to be a holy place for ice performance, the most typical ice sports in ancient China. Every day from 9:00 to 17:00, citizens can experience the fun of ice sports here. Every year, Beihai Park will present the wonderful "ice performance" by performers dressed like Eight Banner Ice Skating Battalion, a winter ice activity held in ancient royal gardens. Such performance gives tourists a perceptual and more impressive experience of Chinese traditional culture and garden culture.

4. Yuyuantan Park

Yuyuantan Park hosts snow and ice activities every winter for citizens. The snow paradise is located on the lake west to the park's cherry blossom garden, which brings together four themed elements, namely, celebration of spring festival, parent-child activities, sports, and popularization of science.

5. Zizhuyuan Park

Zizhuyuan Park occupies a total area of 45.73 hectares, one-third of which is covered by water. The Nanchanghe River and Shuangziqu Canal run through the park. Consisting of three lakes, two islands and one embankment, the park is a natural landscape garden highlighted for bamboo scenery. In winter when the water freezes, tourists can indulge themselves in playing on the ice.
