1. Rice, Origin, Enlightenment - Special Exhibition of Shangshan Culture Archaeological Discoveries in Zhejiang

The archaeological discoveries of Shangshan culture have attracted worldwide attention and provide an irrefutable proof that the Shangshan Site is the birthplace of global rice farming civilization. Shangshan culture not only plays a crucial role in the origin and formation of Chinese civilization, but also has a unique significance to world civilization.

Exhibition Period: Starting from November 21, 2021, and expected to last for two months

Venue: Gallery S1, National Museum of China

2. Sketching & Creation: Zhu Danian Art Exhibition

As Chinese art gradually turned to realism in modern times, sketching was introduced from the West, which was a historical choice, and has become a widely accepted technique in Chinese art creation.

Two types of works are displayed in this exhibition: natural sketching works and works created based on sketching. It is a very novel way to juxtapose the two types of works. The arrangement allows visitors to appreciate the relationship between sketching and creation on the one hand, and gain a direct understanding of Mr. Zhu's unique way of creation on the other.

Exhibition Period: Until March 20, 2022

Venue: Exhibition Hall at the Third Floor, Tsinghua University Art Museum

3. Tadao Ando World Tour Exhibition in Beijing: Youth

This exhibition brings 1:1 replicas of Tadao Ando's three classic works, namely, Church of the Light, Church on the Water, and Meditation Space UNESCO. As the fifth stop of the world tour, this exhibition is named "Youth" to express the spirit of Tadao Ando who has had his 5 internal organs removed but never stops his pursuits for architectural designing at the age of 80, and to convey his philosophical thoughts towards life: no matter how old you are, as long as you keep your heart young, you can always gain the youthful vigor.

Exhibition Period: October 12, 2021 - January 9, 2022

Venue: Beijing Minsheng Contemporary Art Museum

4. Maurizio Cattelan: The Last Judgement

Maurizio Cattelan is one of the most popular and controversial artists in the contemporary art circle. This exhibition presents his 29 representative works including installations, sculptures and performances. The exhibited works are partly drawn from the personal life of Cattelan and his life experience as an artist, which leads audiences to contemplate on death and unpredictable life, especially the artist's feeling when he thinks about death. Some works mock popular culture and Italian art history, while some satirize the commercialized global art production system.

Exhibition Period: November 20, 2021 - Feburary 20, 2022

Venue: UCCA Center for Contemporary Art

5. X· Cute Bazaar

Here, you will encounter a group of cuties showing their own distinctive characteristics. MONSTER LULU, a little monster born on Halloween and created by Japanese artist Ayako Kishi, will be used as the main cartoon character and element to guide visitors to go through the entire space of the cute bazaar. Wrong Gallery Beijing also launched vinyl sculptures based on the character of MONSTER LULU. Besides, what also await you are Lucy, a witch sculpture designed by Mexican artist Ilse Valfré, and a series of cool and trendy art merchandise designed by many artists.
