BMF Classic for Kids

A Carnival of Animals, Poems, and Music

Saint-Saëns has a best present for the children: the suite The Carnival of Animals. In this work, he weaves magic with music, drawing vivid sketches of a variety of animals with few notes. And he does more than that: he has his own attitude, too, transforming lively music his colleague into the image of the sluggish tortoise, putting pianists who practice like machines into the rank of animals. Moreover, here he foresees the music Harry Potter, and creates the longest-living swan in the world. For kids, nothing is more enjoyable than taking part in the recreation of Saint-Saëns's magic sound world, with Ogden Nash's witty poems adding another artistic dimension. Join us in the time journey led by conductor Jin Yukuang with Novus-Classica Camerata and two very young musicians selected by the BMF in the BMF children's concert!
