Since its establishment in 1998, the BMF has been committed to present high-quality educational events every year for public welfare -- all for free, in order to cultivate the next generation's artistic perception and humanistic concern. These events come in various forms. This year, the BMF invites the renowned pianist Song Siheng to present a multimedia musical fairy tale both educational and entertaining.

Establishing the form of multimedia recital in China, Song Siheng has devoted himself to the planning and performance of a series of innovative large-scale multimedia concerts since his version of Nodame Cantabile in 2009. In these concerts, he combines music with related images and videos to fully mobilize the audience's senses, enriches upon the abstract nature of music, and produces a more straightforward and touching experience.

The musical fairy tale The Adventure of Mimilu is such a work combining music and image. It tells about the encounter of a piano teacher’s cat who loves music and a piano student in the loneliness on a weekday. Its music includes Mozart’s Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Stars, Saint-Saëns' The Carnival of Animal, Tchaikovsky's The Nutcracker, and many other children’s favorites. It's a story that perfectly merge together art and fun.
