The selection process has officially begun for the 16th Beijing Great Wall Friendship Awards. Selections reward foreign nationals who have made outstanding contributions to Beijing's economic and social development and the promotion of friendly exchanges between China and the rest of the world, and help advance the development of Beijing as a center for international exchanges.

Eligibility

Individuals qualifying for nomination for a Beijing Great Wall Friendship Award must meet one of the following conditions:

I. Individuals who have a good social reputation and who have made significant contributions to communications between China and the rest of the world, helping develop Beijing's role as a center for international exchanges.

II. Individuals who have been working in Beijing or have cooperated with the city's organizations or institutions for a long time, and have made major achievements as team leaders, bringing about remarkable economic or social benefits.

III. Individuals who have made great contributions to Beijing's development in sectors such as scientific research, education, health, culture, and sports.

IV. Individuals who have made other major contributions to Beijing's economic and social development.

Nominations

Eligible foreign nationals can be recommended to the Foreign Affairs Office of the People's Government of Beijing Municipality via the committees and governments of all districts, ministries, commissions, administrations and offices of the Municipal Party Committee and Municipal Government, head offices, people's organizations, colleges and universities, municipal institutions, central state organs and institutions, research institutions, universities, and foreign affairs management departments of central state-owned enterprises in Beijing.
