In the heart of Fengtai District, the Nanyuan Forest and Wetland Park is shaping up to be Beijing's southern gem. Spanning a grand 17.5 square kilometers, with over 60 percent dedicated to ecological space, this green haven is on track to be the central city's most expansive green retreat. What started in May 2018 as a transformation from a cluttered, industrial zone to a serene green space, is now evolving into the capital's largest open green area and a vital 'green lung' along the southern axis.

Nanyuan Forest and Wetland Park embodies the concept of 'Boundless Nature', aiming to be a barrier-free, open-to-all park. Its design focuses on accessibility and comfort, enhancing visitor experience with strategically placed entrances and advanced security through electronic monitoring. To add to the convenience, the park will feature vending machines, smart bicycles, and ample parking, all in a bid to provide top-notch facilities. Since its initial opening in March, the park has already welcomed over 400,000 visitors, marking a milestone in its journey to become a beloved urban escape.
