Situated in the northeast corner of the Altar of Land and Grain, Yu Garden, covering an area of 7,230 sqm and a floor area of 614 sqm, is a scenic spot for visitors to watch the precious goldfish. Yu Garden is named using the character "Yu" (joy in English), a homonym of "Yu" (fish in English), and means a garden to watch fish.

A century-old teahouse named Laijin Yuxuan is located in the east of the Zhongshan Park. In the 1920s and 1930s, it was a familiar and comfortable gathering place for celebrities in Beijing.
