BEIJING, Feb. 1 (Xinhua) -- Beijing reported two new imported  confirmed COVID-19 cases on Sunday, the municipal health commission said  Monday.

One of the confirmed cases departed from Zimbabwe and arrived in  Beijing via Hong Kong on Jan. 30 and tested positive for COVID-19 after  arrival.

The other case departed from Iran on Jan. 12 and arrived in Guangzhou  a day later. The case had undergone multiple nucleic acid tests and the  results were all negative during medical observation in Guangzhou. The  case then flew to Beijing on Jan. 28 and tested positive for COVID-19 on  Jan. 31 while under quarantine at a designated hotel.

Both cases have been sent to the designated hospital for treatment.

No new imported suspected or asymptomatic cases of COVID-19 were reported on Sunday.

The city also saw no new locally transmitted confirmed, suspected, or  asymptomatic COVID-19 cases on Sunday, said the commission.
