BEIJING, Jan. 26 (Xinhua) -- Orderly delivery and distribution of  supplies for residents who are required to self-quarantine at home in Daxing District of Beijing have been ensured by joint efforts of local  volunteers and supermarket suppliers since Wednesday.

The district will enforce stringent lockdown management in five residential compounds in the Tiangongyuan sub-district, where two new  cases were detected. Over 24,000 residents of five compounds are now  required to self-quarantine in their homes.

The Bureau of Commerce in Daxing District have been coordinating  between markets and transports to send about a hundred of trucks  delivering fresh vegetables and daily necessities to people's doors.

Quarantined residents can make orders online in the Tiangongyuan  sub-district and over 300 volunteers have been assisting the  distribution and delivery of supplies.

Beijing reported two new locally transmitted confirmed COVID-19 cases on Monday, the municipal health commission said on Tuesday. Both cases  were reported in Daxing District, according to the commission.

Health authorities in Beijing previously said that they had  identified the novel coronavirus behind the recent COVID-19 cases in  Daxing as the mutant strain first found in Britain.
