On November 9, 2018, General Secretary Xi Jinping conferred the national flag and delivered a speech to the China National Comprehensive Fire and Rescue Team. In the past two years, the image of firefighters in blue has been deeply rooted in people’s hearts, and the firefighters are called “the Most Handsome Hero in Harm’s Way”. The China’s Firefighters’ Cartoon Image Design Competition is hosted by the Fire and Rescue Department Ministry of Emergency Management to fully demonstrate the good image of the fire and rescue team in the newera that is loyalty to the Party, abides by strict disciplines and goes through fire and water to serve the people and enhance the people’s attention and awareness to fire safety in a more flexible, novel and friendly visual form. The work should be designed based on the image of Chinese firefighters. It should show the firefighters’ identity and profession with dressing and accessories, and demonstrate at least two working positions, including fire fighting, emergency rescue, fire inspection, fire knowledge publicity. It can also be accompanied by extended designs such as graphic posters, animations, expressions, and garage kits.
