The NCPA Taihu Art Centre International Forum is a professional forum focusing on stage arts. It aims to expand the frontiers of theatre, stage, technology, and art through professional communications of those who are engaged in the sector at home and abroad, and tries to explore the intrinsic relations among them. The forum has been held in Beijing for three consecutive years.

Co-hosted by Beijing Design Week Organizing Committee, NCPA and China Institute of Stage Design, the 2021 NCPA Taihu Art Centre International Forum (the Forum) is scheduled to be held on September 28-29 at the Taihu Theatre, NCPA Taihu Stage Art Centre. On the theme of "digitalization and stage arts", the Forum focuses on the building of "digital platform of stage art"and centers around the topics of "Digitalization and the Future of Stage Arts", "Overall Performance Design in the Digital Era" and "Space for Opera Stage Arts in the Digital Era", etc. As a high-level forum, it is expected to make path-breaking, international, academic, innovative, and open achievements. The three hosts of the Forum will give play to their respective advantages in resources, invite famous stage art designers from professional art troupes, academies, and research institutions as well as experts and scholars in relevant fields to participate in the Forum, and conduct communications and exchanges in the forms of keynote speech (Chinese and foreign speakers), case and experience sharing, and Chinese guests dialogues, aiming to provoke thoughts on the impacts of the digital era on stage performance arts and guide the direction of the development of professional and digital stage arts. In addition, The Central Academy of Drama, Shanghai Theatre Academy and National Academy of Chinese Theatre Arts were invited as sponsors to fully participate in the discussions of the Forum and offer scientific research and social services.

The Forum will be held online and offline. Its opening ceremony on the morning of September 28 will be broadcast live on the platform. Domestic and overseas experts and representatives will make keynote speeches on the themes of "NCPA Taihu Stage Art Digital Platform" and "Technology Empowers Stage Arts". After that, on the themes of "Digitalization and the Future of Stage Arts", "Overall Performance Design in the Digital Era" and "Space for Opera Stage Arts in the Digital Era", a meeting will be chaired by an industry expert for digitalization experts, famous designers and industry experts to discuss about the corresponding themes. The Forum will start from the relationship between digitalization and theatre and stage, technology empowers stage arts, and digital creation and presentation of stage arts, focus on digital design and creation of stage arts, as well as the management, application, promotion and operation of digitalization, chart the course for digital development of stage arts, showcase the latest creative works of the stage art industry, share the experience and achievements of digital platforms, build important platforms for stage art communications at home and abroad, and promote orderly development of the industry and formulate relevant standards.
