The transfer hall of Sanyuanqiao Station of Beijing Subway Line 12 is currently being renovated. Once completed, the station will serve as a transfer hub for Lines 10 and 12, as well as the Capital Airport Express. The renovation of the most of the station's main structure, public hall and platforms is already complete, with the refurbishment of auxiliary structure and installation of equipment underway.

It is learned that Subway Line 12 is scheduled to commence operations in 2024. Primary structural work has been completed on the stations and the connecting intervals, with work on auxiliary structures ongoing. Equipment installation is 95 percent complete overall, and the work for joint debugging for the station system as well as train testing and commissioning is in progress.

Subway Line 12 stretches approximately 30 kilometers in length entirely underground and passes through four administrative districts: Haidian, Xicheng, Dongcheng, and Chaoyang. It consists of 21 stations: Sijiqingqiao, Yuandalu, Changchunqiao, Suzhouqiao, Renmin Daxue (Renmin Univ.), Dazhongsi, Jimenqiao, Beitaipingzhuang, Madian, Anhuaqiao, Anzhenqiao, Heping Xiqiao, Guangximen, Xibahe, Sanyuanqiao, Fangyuanli, Gaojiayuan, Jiuxianqiao, Beigangzi, Dongfeng, and Dongba Beijie, with 13 transfer stations planned. Once complete and open for traffic, it will provide transfer options for  passengers of 12 other lines, including Lines 4, 5, and 8.
