Beijing launched its first Lotus Culture Festival on June 28. The event, scheduled to last till the end of August, has six major lotus exhibition areas, including China National Botanical Garden (south garden), Yuyuantan Park, Zizhuyuan Park, Yuanmingyuan Park, Lianhuachi Park and Olympic Forest Park. A photography contest and the lotus-viewing cruise experience among other themed activities will also be available during the festival.
