Recently, at the Beijing Shijingshan Forum on International Open Cooperation of the 2023 China International Fair for Trade in Services (CIFTIS), the Shijingshan District People's Government of Beijing Municipality and Bank of Beijing signed a contract with eight institutions such as ZGC Science Fiction Industry Innovation Center, and Light Chaser Technology to jointly build e-CNY sci-fi application scenarios and further explore new directions of piloting e-CNY in Beijing.

Shijingshan District will lead the e-CNY trend by setting up sci-fi innovation scenarios, featuring three basic ones namely consumption, livelihood, and government services. It will expand the comprehensive application of e-CNY, forming a "1+3+N" full-spectrum pilot model. In this way, e-CNY can be deeply integrated into people's daily lives and an "e-CNY comprehensive pilot zone" can gradually take its shape.

At the signing ceremony, the officials from Shijingshan District and persons in charge of the Bank of Beijing signed a cooperation agreement with eight enterprises engaging in sci-fi scenario application to jointly explore new application scenarios of e-CNY, and carry out all-round cooperation in aspects of sci-fi credit products, sci-fi innovation operation, and sci-fi cultural and creative IPs, to fully enhance the use of e-CNY in various scenarios.

According to an official from the Financial Services Office of Shijingshan District, the "sci-fi loan" - an exclusive credit product designed for sci-fi enterprises in the area - will be issued in the form of e-CNY. Moreover, Shijingshan District will rely on Shougang Park to actively expand the application of e-CNY and foster e-CNY payment scenarios around financial credit, fee payment, and ordinary consumption, to build an e-CNY demonstration park integrating display, experience, and consumption.

At the forum, the cooperative enterprises received "Chang'an Sanwanli" e-CNY hardware wallet as well, which looks the same as a normal financial card. It features the functions of deposit and spending of e-CNY, as well as password-free payment for small-value transactions with no need of charging the e-CNY hardware wallet.
