Chaoyang District Ranks Top in Beijing with 582 New Investment Projects Attracted in First Five Months

The total retail sales of consumer goods in Chaoyang District reached CNY 27.87 billion in April, marking a growth rate of 13.6 percent. The district took first place among others in Beijing with the introduction of 174 first stores of different brands during the first five months. Moreover, the district added 582 new investment projects to the project pool in the first five months, with the number ranking top in the city. The estimated new investment achieved CNY 96.9 billion, while the estimated new foreign investment reached USD 6.35 billion, both figures ranking first among other districts in Beijing. 

Chaoyang District has developed a comprehensive consumption map that covers the entire region. The map features a CBD international business district valued at approximately CNY 100 billion, six major business districts connected to Metro Line 14, including SKP Beijing, a shopping center with top sales performance around the world, and another three major business districts, including Sanlitun, along the Liangma River. Chaoyang District has announced the commencement of construction on ten major commercial complexes in the eastern, western, and northern regions of the district in 2023. THE BOX Youth Energy Center, which is highlighted by its NBA HOOP PARK, is a typical example among these complexes. 

Chaoyang District has become a location for global first-tier brands, with approximately 90 percent of  these brands having already established their stores here. 

The district boasts a total of 1,588 various first stores, accounting for around 60 percent of the total number in Beijing. Besides, the district boasts 68 percent of Black Pearl restaurants and 60 percent of Michelin-starred restaurants in Beijing, along with 41 percent of cafes and 30 percent of teahouses.

Chaoyang District has sent delegations to Europe to attract foreign investment since the beginning of 2023, positioning itself as a leader among other districts in the city. Chaoyang District has also sent a delegation to Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates for the second time, approximately four months after its initial visit, to explore potential partnerships that can promote the high-quality development of the district.
