The Beijing Zoo recently opened its fifth themed creative store, the Polar Bear Cultural and Creative Shop, located on the south side of the Polar Bear Pavilion. The shop is a place where visitors can come to rest, take photos, have food, and purchase products related to polar bears. Moreover, the shop provides daily necessities, knick-knacks, mugs, toys, and more than 20 kinds of dishes and can satisfy visitors' diversified demands.
The Polar Bear Cultural and Creative Shop is an upgraded version of the original outlet store now offering more opportunities for tourists to enjoy the wildlife and have fun. Sculpture of polar bears alongside a snow-capped mountain in the storefront await visitors upon entry, setting the tone for a magical world of snow and ice. The store has been divided into five areas according to functions: food and beverages, a viewing and leisure area, an observation and experience area, an area for taking photos, and a place to display goods.
Ice-brick shaped counters and polar bear shaped cakes have made the food and beverage area a popular place for tourists to take photos. In the viewing and leisure area, visitors can see real polar bears and play for dolls in the special machine to keep as souvenirs. In the observation and experience area, visitors can observe the fascinating process of ice-making. A visit wouldn't be complete without a picture with the polar bear sculpture in the photo-taking area to save the memory for the future.
The Polar Bear Cultural and Creative Shop is the fifth themed store of its kind at the Beijing Zoo. Since 2016, the zoo has engaged in researching and developing cultural and creative products, and operated the Panda Gift Flagship Store, the Penguin Cultural and Creative Shop, the Panda Coffee Shop, other cultural and creative stores, and special restaurants, all of which have proved to be hits with tourists. In 2022, the zoo's Pelican Shop even made the list of "Popular New Internet-famous Spots in Beijing".
