The Ministry of Ecology and Environment of the People's Republic of China officially recognized Beijing's Pinggu District as one of the sixth batch of national ecological civilization construction demonstration zones at the China Ecological Civilization Forum Nanchang Annual Conference held in Jiangxi Province on November 19. The honor attests to Pinggu District's achievements in ecological conservation on the heels of the recognition as a practical and innovative base demonstrating "lucid waters and lush mountains are invaluable assets". These two national-level titles are currently the highest honors in the field of ecological civilization construction in China.
