Recently, five experimental stations have been opened to domestic and foreign users for reservation in the Synergetic Extreme Condition User Facility (SECUF), one of the five major science facilities settled in Huairou Science City, and more than 50 applications have been received from domestic and foreign teams up to now, according to the Huairou Park of the Institute of Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences.

The SECUF is the first major science facility established in Huairou Science City in 2017, and also the first put into commissioning by the end of 2020. "The so-called extreme conditions such as ultralow temperature, strong magnetic fields and ultrahigh pressure are artificially created in the laboratory. Through creating extreme conditions, we can discover and reveal many properties of matters that cannot be observed under usual conditions, explore new rules and open up a new range of applications, vigorously promoting the progress of science and technology," said Yu Lu, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and a researcher of the Institute of Physics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences.

The research team from the Institute of Physics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences has already entered the facility and started commissioning and experiments. As part of the facility has passed the acceptance test, the first batch of experimental stations has been recently opened for reservation to domestic and foreign teams. It is reported that stations open for reservation include the solid-state quantum computation station at ultra-low temperatures (strong magnetic field), the solid-state quantum computation station at ultra-low temperatures (low-intensity magnetic field), the in-situ scanning tunneling spectrum and angle-resolved photoemission spectrum measurements station at low temperature, the micro/nanofabrication platform, and the technological support platform.
