On June 28, Beijing Daxing International Airport Express, or Daxing Airport Express for short, unveiled its unmanned "White Whale (白鲸)" metro train and put it into operation, indicating that it had successfully implemented the fully functional operation of the Full Automatic Operation (FAO) system with fully independent intellectual property rights. The express metro line thus becomes the first fully automatic rail transit line in China with a design speed of 160km/h and operating at GoA4 level.

Daxing Airport Express trains operating at GoA4 automation level are capable of performing the following operations automatically: activation from sleep on time, and departure from the depot after completing self-inspection. They will be put into mainline operation automatically according to the timetable, and complete a series of operations such as driving between stations, stopping precisely at stations, automatically opening and closing doors, and automatically departing from stations etc. The entire process of running the trains requires no manual operation and is fully automated.
