Can people with chronic diseases receive COVID-19 vaccines? On April 6, Beijing Municipal Center for Disease Control and Prevention replied to this question on its official Sina Weibo account, stating that people with chronic diseases are at a very high risk of severe illness or death after being infected with COVID-19. People with chronic diseases that are well-controlled by medication and under stable health condition will not be identified for contraindication to coronavirus vaccines, and vaccination is thus recommended.

Uncontrolled serious chronic diseases constitute contraindications to COVID-19 vaccination. People under such conditions are recommended to defer their vaccination.
