Beijing Botanical Garden: Hundreds of wintersweet shrubs at Wofo Temple

Wofo Temple is a popular spot for appreciating wintersweet in Beijing, with over 100 wintersweet shrubs around the animal release pond at its entrance and along the road east of Sanshi Grand Hall. Currently about 30% of the flowers are in bloom; the flowering season is expected to last through early to mid-March.

The Summer Palace: Varconclor wintersweet at Lenong Pavilion

Lenong Pavilion takes the form of a quaint wooden house, with more than 10 wintersweet shrubs, mostly varconclor, planted in its vicinity. The best time for viewing wintersweet this year will largely depend on temperature fluctuations, but it is expected that the peak period for varconclor blooms at Lenong Pavilion will be from mid-February to early March.

Xiangshan Park: Bloom percentage of Wintersweet Valley reaches 20%

Wintersweet Valley is located at along the path south of Yanjing Lake in Xiangshan Park. With hundreds of flowering shrubs, it is a must-see for wintersweet viewing.

The current bloom percentage of wintersweet in the valley has reached 20%, attracting a number of visitors. On-site signage acquaint visitors with wintersweet knowledge while they enjoy the views. According to recent weather reports, the park's wintersweet should be at peak bloom from late February to early March this year, with the general flowering period lasting until mid-March.

Zizhuyuan Park: Wintersweet blossoms along the veranda

Wintersweet is in bloom along the palace veranda on the northwest side of Zizhuyuan Park. The park has about 12 wintersweet plants, and some are already in bloom.

Taoranting Park: Fragrant wintersweet at Zuiweng Pavilion

Taoranting Park's wintersweet shrubs can be found in three locations: at Zuiweng Pavilion, at the famous pavilion exhibition entrance in the China Garden of Famous Pavilions, and across from the famous pavilions exhibition. Although not quite abundant, their smell is absolutely blissful, attracting tourists to linger beneath their blossoms and take souvenir photos.
