On February 21, railway authorities announced that with the peak of post-holiday return, travelers coming to Beijing will need to pay attention to the city's latest measures for pandemic prevention and control.

In principle, travelers from high-risk areas are not allowed to enter Beijing. Those who nevertheless have to enter Beijing must first obtain approval from the local provincial-level department of pandemic prevention and control as well as negative nucleic acid test results within 72 hours prior to arrival.

Meanwhile, prior to March 15, travelers from low-risk areas must provide negative nucleic acid test results within the past seven days upon arrival in Beijing. Passengers without valid negative results will not be allowed to check in or board trains. They may only cancel or change their train tickets. Railway authorities will check for passengers' negative test results at railway stations and local services for changing train tickets at Beijing will be suspended.

Travelers from low-risk areas in Hebei Province and commuters from Beijing's surrounding areas should comply with the existing policy for entering Beijing.
