China and Thailand signed a mutual visa exemption agreement in Bangkok, Thailand, which came into effect on March 1, 2024. Chinese citizens holding passports for public affairs and regular passports and Thai citizens holding regular passports can travel visa-free between the two countries for up to 30 days per visit. The total stay period for an individual should not exceed 90 days within any 180-day period.

Those who enter the other country for work, study, news reporting, residency and other activities that require prior approval, and those who plan to stay for more than 30 days, shall obtain the corresponding visas before entry.
