A large and immersive exhibition themed on the iconic detective Sherlock Holmes will be held at the National Library of China from April 28.

This exhibition is divided into four sections. The first three sections primarily focus on showing and exhibiting the birth timeline of the Entire Collection of Sherlock Holmes' Works, and offer a valuable perspective into the life of Arthur Conan Doyle, the genius behind the renowned character Sherlock Holmes. These sections also demonstrate the portrayals of London in the world of Sherlock Holmes and feature derivative works inspired by the IP.

The exhibition reconstructs the settings of Holmes' stories.

This exhibition features a collection of over 100 volumes, involving more than 80 diversified documents in Chinese, English, and Japanese. This collection comprises multiple versions of The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes, biographical accounts of Conan Doyle and their translation texts, academic research papers, and the like.

This exhibition is highlighted with its fourth section. It encompasses the reconstruction of Sherlock Holmes' narrative settings, the demonstration of twelve classic cases, and the replication of one crime scene from the novels, providing visitors with a more authentic visiting experience.

According to reports, the exhibition in Beijing will be the first stop of a national tour for the Sherlock Holmes exhibition. This exhibition is an important part of the 2023 Beijing Artwork Trading and Exhibition Month and has also been included in the 11th Beijing People's Beneficial Cultural Consumption Season.

Exhibition Guide

Exhibition Dates: April 28 to November 2, 2023, from 9:00 to 17:00. The exhibition will be closed every Monday, and any holiday closures will be announced separately.

Venue: Exhibition Hall 3 and Hall 4 of the National Library of China (National Museum of Classic Books).

Ticket Information: Early purchase tickets are available for CNY 128 per person, weekday tickets are available for CNY 159 per person, and all-pass tickets are available for CNY 189 per person. Tickets can be purchased through various platforms, including the mini program "The World of Natural History" and ticket purchasing websites such as Maoyan.com, Damai.cn, and Moretickets.com.

Additional Tools: Visitors may use AR glasses and purchase a detective manual (at an additional charge) to enhance their experience.
