The 13th Cao Xueqin Cultural and Art Festival is held from September to December, with five major theme events. From October to December, a series of lectures on The Dream of the Red Chamber will be delivered at the National Library Arts Center. From October 28 to 30, a themed concert will also be staged at the center.

"The Dream Stays, Timeless Reading of The Dream of the Red Chamber" exhibition has been held at the Cao Xueqin Culture Center at the China National Botanical Garden and will last until December; a large exhibition of the same theme will be held at the central axis road of the garden from November to December. From October 1 to 5, a themed carnival for the book's fans has been held at the Yellow Leaf Village of the garden. This October, Dance Drama CAO Xueqin will be staged at the National Centre for the Performing Arts.
