The "Dual Olympic City · Date with Great Wall" Beijing 2022 Great Wall Cultural Festival is to open on the night of August 20 in Beijing Wtown, Miyun District. Themed on the "Beauty of the Great Wall", "Charm of the Great Wall", "Tour of the Great Wall", and "Soul of the Great Wall", the festival aims to fully display the magnificence of the Great Wall and to highlight the cultural heritage and spirit of the times.

The opening ceremony will introduce Beijing's achievements in its efforts to promote the protection of the Great Wall, launch the main route of the "Jingji Great Wall" national scenery trails, hold a gift-giving ceremony of the Great-Wall-themed traditional Chinese painting "Overlook of Simatai Great Wall" from Li Keran Academy of Painting, and honor the best cultural relics guardians in Beijing in 2022. A segment of the phenomenal dance drama "Only Blue and Green" (只此青绿) will also be showcased at the event.

Miyun District will also carry out a series of activities themed on the cultural festival that will involve public participation, such as:

1. "Beautiful Beijing · Charming Great Wall" Beijing Great Wall International Photography Week

Photographers, professional photographers, photography enthusiasts and tourists are invited to record the Great Wall, the scenery of Miyun Reservoir, ecology and species, landscapes and natural environment in Beijing, show the achievements of building the Beijing Great Wall cultural belt, the charm of Miyun Reservoir, the greatness of the Great Wall and the pleasant ecological environment created. One hundred photographs will be selected during the event to be exhibited in Beijing Wtown.

2. "Millennium Ancient Town · Date with Great Wall" Gubeikou Great Wall Temple Fair

The temple fair will be held on August 21, 2022, in Gubeikou Village of Gubeikou Town. A flower-themed folk entertainment tour, performances, a Gubeikou culture exhibition, and other activities will be part of the event.

Miyun District welcomes you to visit the Simatai Great Wall and the Gubeikou Great Wall, and experience the essence of the Great Wall of China.
