BEIJING, Dec. 15 (Xinhua) -- Over 100 years after Ludwig van Beethoven's Symphony No.3 first hit the stage in China, the musical talent's tour de force was played at the Beijing Zhongshan Park to mark the anniversary of his 250th birthday.

The 12-hour-long performance was produced and planned by the Beijing Symphony Orchestra and Beijing Baoli Forbidden City Theater Management Co., Ltd.

Consisted of piano solos, reprises, a concert for child welfare and chorus, the event was recently live-streamed online at no charge to satisfy fans all over the world.

Over 180 musicians, together with the Beijing Symphony Orchestra and a chorus from the Beijing Musician Association, participated in the performance.

Dec. 16 marks the anniversary of Beethoven's 250th birthday. His compositions were first introduced in China in 1911 when China was still in its Revolution of 1911.
