Beijing China-Germany Industrial Park in Beijing was officially opened on December 23. It is the first national-level Sino-German cooperation park featuring the theme of economic and technological cooperation approved by the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC). It is also an integral component of Beijing's development of the Integrated National Demonstration Zone for Opening up the Services Sector and the China (Beijing) Pilot Free Trade Zone ("Two Zones" for short), as well as the international center for scientific and technological innovation. The Industrial Park focuses on three leading industries: new energy and intelligent vehicles, intelligent equipment, and industrial Internet. It also focuses on three productive service industries: technology service, business exhibition, and digital trade. It is committed to building "a cluster for the German advanced manufacturing industry, a strategic hub for the development of Chinese and German hidden champions, and an important window for Sino-German exchanges and open innovation".

Up to now, the Industrial Park has gathered more than 70 German-invested enterprises (including 25 German hidden champions) such as Mercedes-Benz, BMW and Ameco, with an annual output value of more than CNY 30 billion. The Management Committee of Beijing China-Germany Industrial Park signed a comprehensive strategic cooperation agreement with NDRC's International Cooperation Center and AHK Greater China, seeking to work together to expand practical cooperation with Germany and Europe in both economic and technological fields. 22 key projects were signed, including the second global headquarters of the German Wilo Group, the Bosch Rexroth Industry 4.0 Innovation Center, the Hüller Hille Machine Tool Application R&D Center, and the Rhein-Koster China Headquarters. The new growth drivers of Sino-German industrial cooperation have become stronger as a result of this agreement.

The Beijing Municipal Judges Workstation for the Development of Two Zones (China-Germany Industrial Park) and the China-Germany Industrial Park Intellectual Property Circuit were inaugurated at the same time. The No.3 Intermediate People's Court of Beijing Municipality intends to implement six innovative mechanisms in the industrial park, including regular consultation, joint research, exemplary adjudication, and intelligent service so as to create a world-class business environment established on market principles and the rule of law. The Beijing Intellectual Property Court will be looking to the Intellectual Property Circuit to provide a full range of judicial protection services for intellectual property rights within the park.

Beijing China-Germany Industrial Park, adjacent to Beijing Capital International Airport, is well connected to transportation routes and comes with a full complement of support facilities. The 20-sqkm development space have been divided into northern and southern sections linking the industrial and residential systems of Beijing Capital International Airport, Beijing International Exhibition Centre, the Central Villa District, and the surrounding industrial parks. It has been developed to feature two sections with multiple focal points, integrated development of multiple industries, territorial connections, and industry-city integration ultimately intended to cover the entire 100 sqkms of the Beijing Innovation Industry Cluster Demonstration Area.

The southern section, with a planned area of 8 square kilometers, is located to the east of Beijing Capital International Airport and is positioned as a gathering place for German hidden champions and technology service industries such as R&D and design, lab-scale and pilot-scale testing, system integration, and industrial internet. The park has completed 3 million sqms of office and R&D buildings as well as nearly 5,000 apartments for international talent. The planned R4 rapid transit line passes through the park, and the China-Germany Building has already been put into use and become home to key German companies such as the Bosch Rexroth Industry 4.0 Innovation Center, the Rhein-Koster China Headquarters, and the Hüller Hille Machine Tool Application R&D Center.

The northern section has a planned area of 12 square kilometers located in the northern part of Shunyi New Town. It is positioned as a gathering place for German new energy intelligent vehicles and advanced equipment. A 200-hectare parcel of industrial land has been earmarked for high-end manufacturing and is currently home to such blue-chip German companies as Mercedes-Benz New Energy Vehicle, Wilo Group, and Carl Cloos. The park is also planned to establish a Sino-German international school, a commercial complex, an international hospital, and other comprehensive support facilities, and build a comfortable and eminently livable German-style town serving as a model of industry-city integration.
