To enhance the management of imported cold-chain food, Beijing Municipal Administration for Market Regulation and the Beijing Municipal Commerce Bureau decide to expand the scope of traceable food varieties on Beijing Cold Chain Food Traceability Platform (hereinafter referred to as “Beijing Cold Chain”). The relevant requirements are raised as follows:

I. Starting from February 12, 2021 (including the above-mentioned date), all imported cold chain foods with storage temperature below 0℃(including 0℃) shall be included in the scope of traceable foods in “Beijing Cold Chain”, mainly frozen grain products (such as quick-frozen rice flour products), frozen dairy products (such as butter and cheese), frozen vegetables, frozen fruits, ice-cream, cold drinks such as fruit juice, and other imported cold-chain food varieties.

II. Relevant departments or individuals who engaged in the import, production and processing, circulation and sales, logistics and warehousing, and catering services of imported cold-chain foods in Beijing shall strictly abide by the Law of Food Safety of the People’s Republic of China and the Law of Infectious Disease Prevention and Control of the People’s Republic of China. They need to ensure that all imported cold-chain foods operated by them are traceable and take the responsibility in COVID-19 epidemic prevention and control. They need to strictly follow the management requirements, e.g., it’s against the rule to purchase, operate, use, transport, or store the imported cold-chain foods without inspection and quarantine certificate, nucleic acid test report, disinfection certificate and traceability information.

III. The producers and operators of cold-chain foods in Beijing shall comply with the management requirements of “Beijing Cold Chain” to ensure that the uploaded data for tracing the origins are comprehensive and accurate, and make sure that consumers can query the product information via convenient channels.

IV. Here are some ways to log onto the ‘Beijing Cold Chain’ platform:  go to the website https://sp.scjgj.beijing.gov.cn/cctp/login; or search for the mini application “Beijing Cold Chain” on WeChat or AliPay platforms on your mobile phone. The manuals and videos for starters and users as cold food businesses are available on the platform. 24-hour technical support is also available for imported cold food businesses.
