The pilot program is dedicated to the following two types of insurance:

Patent enforcement insurance: when an insured patent is infringed upon, the insured shall be compensated for the investigation expenses, legal expenses and other expenses incurred during the legal rights defending.

Patent infringement loss insurance: when an insured patent is infringed upon, the insured shall be compensated for the direct economic losses caused by patent infringement. 

The scope of insurance applicant supported by the funds of the pilot program of intellectual property insurance:

Single champion enterprises: demonstrative single champion manufacturing enterprises, manufacturing enterprises with single champion products, single champion manufacturing enterprises under cultivation, and foreign-funded hidden champion enterprises that meet relevant conditions. 

Micro-, small and medium-sized enterprises in key fields: micro-, small and medium-sized enterprises committed to the research and development of hard and core technologies, and small and micro-sized enterprises in the top ten high-end, precision and sophisticated industries. 

Application: Eligible enterprises can file a preliminary application for the intellectual property insurance from January 20, 2022. 

Enterprises that intend to apply for the insurance shall log into the Beijing Comprehensive Financial Service Platform for Micro and Small Enterprises (website: https://www.smeservice.com and technical support hotline: 010-58352188), click on the column of "Intellectual Property Insurance Pilot Program", and file a preliminary application on the corresponding interface. 

When the pilot insurance companies of this year are confirmed, the official application will kick off. At that time, enterprises can log into the above platform to submit an official application for insurance and subsidies.
