Park Introduction: Beijing Yizhuang Biomedical Park is committed to creating a multi-functional, full-process and high-end biotechnology and massive health industry innovation service system. After nearly nine years of development, the park has built an innovation service platform with centralized facilities, intensive functions and concentrated resources to provide innovative development carriers for biomedical enterprises, while constantly improving the biomedical industry chain in the development area and promoting the effective transformation of the scientific and technological achievements of Beijing's biomedical industry.

I.Park overview: With a total construction area of about 180,000 square meters, the park formally opened in October 2011. In the past nine years, the park has adhered to the platform service investment, investment attraction and other methods, and vigorously carried out investment promotion work. At present, there are 180 enterprises in the park (including 18 centralized office areas), and the overall lease rate of entrusted assets is 97%, forming an industrial cluster development trend dominated by new drug research and development, diagnostic reagents, clinical tests, medical devices, technical services and supporting service institutions. 

II. Park operation: In order to promote the development of biomedical industry and create a good environment for innovation and entrepreneurship, the park, focusing on the whole life cycle of the development of biomedical innovation enterprises, has comprehensively promoted the construction of biomedical public service system from the aspects of technology, talents, finance, soft environment, etc., built an one-stop business incubation platform, and gradually formed the industrial chain of "Nursery-Incubator-Accelerator-Characteristic Industrial Park"and a unique service system. 

In the past eight years since the park's opening, the enterprises settled in the park have developed vigorously, the industrial clustering effect has been prominent, and innovation achievements have been constantly emerging. The park has obtained more than 40 honorary qualifications at all levels, including the National Science and Technology Enterprise Incubator and the National Small and Micro Enterprise Entrepreneurship and Innovation Demonstration Base.

1. Innovation Practice and Technical Support

The park has invested more than 100 million yuan to build 5 specialized platforms, and formed a whole-chain technology production service platform with technical logistics service platform as guarantee, biomedical testing technology service platform, biomedical technology service platform and small animal service platform as support, and pilot production service platform as head. 

At present, the platform has more than thousands of sophisticated instruments and equipment, and the testing laboratory has completed CMA and CNAS certification and can provide legally effective inspection and test reports. 

2. Sustainable Development and Financial Support

The park focuses on establishing a "platform + incubation" model to create a good financial service environment. On the one hand, it actively matches for corporate financing and continues to improve external financial service capabilities. On the other hand, it actively explores the establishment of an investment model of "incubation investment-industrial investment-strategic investment" to enhance internal and external financial service capabilities. 

The park has held more than ten project roadshows to build a bridge between banks and enterprises for cooperation. At the same time, the park actively promotes the establishment of early-stage project funds and industrial funds to provide capital support for high-quality ongoing projects of enterprises. 

3. Innovation Atmosphere and Talent Cultivation

The park has built a pyramid-structured talent cultivation system and formed a multi-level human resources service platform. It has successively established strategic cooperation with Capital Medical University, Dalian University of Technology and other universities. Based on the needs of enterprises, it has set up 6 consecutive "park order classes" to jointly cultivate industrial skilled talents at various levels of high vocational, undergraduate, master, doctoral and post-doctoral mobile stations with enterprises in the park, and has jointly built a practice base of biomedicine industry combining production, study, research and use in the park. In addition, the park holds two talent matching meetings with a scale of over 1,000 every year to help enterprises solve the problem of finding and training talents. 

4. Mass entrepreneurship and innovation and Professional Guidance

In terms of industrial innovation environment construction, the park adheres to the assistance of industrial resource aggregation and integration, strives to build the E-TOWN BIO brand and has held a series of characteristic activities. In 2019, the park successfully held 7 industrial innovation and development forums, 3 professional training sessions and 16 medical technology interaction salons, which have enhanced information exchange and technical interaction between enterprises and promoted regional industrial collaborative innovation. In terms of international cooperation, the park has established cooperation with a number of overseas institutions, and by jointly organizing professional conferences such as overseas clinical trials and international drug registration, the park has strengthened professional technical exchanges and introduced foreign advanced technological achievements. 

5. Innovation Supporting Services and Precise Support

In order to further improve the environment for the transformation of scientific and technological achievements, the park has been continuously providing excellent and innovation supporting services and carrying out the basic services required by the daily business of enterprises, including reagent clearance, new drug declaration, industrial and commercial registration, etc., which can provide professional, targeted and all-round support for enterprises and reduce the transactional input of enterprises. 

The park, in conjunction with Zhongguancun Bio-Platform Logistics Service Center, has set up a reference preparation procurement service platform in the park, which can provide one-stop procurement services such as reference preparation inquiry, demand ordering, overseas purchase and transportation, customs clearance at import port, and domestic storage and distribution. 

As the supporting unit of intellectual property service contact point of the economic development area, the park has formed one-to-one support group with enterprises, regularly organized experts to guide and solve enterprise problems, and helped enterprises prevent risks in domestic and foreign patent markets. 

At the same time, as the industrial and commercial registration guidance station of the economic development area, the park provides industrial and commercial services such as industrial and commercial registration of changes, annual report and consultation for enterprises. By the end of 2019, the industrial and commercial station has handled 104 industrial and commercial businesses for enterprises and provided consulting services for more than 30 times. 

6. Achievement Transformation and Industry Bearing

In June 2019, as announced by the science and technology bureau of the development area, three pilot test bases in Yizhuang Biomedical Park, including Yizhuang Biomedical Park GMP Pilot Service Platform, Diagnostic Reagent Pilot Service Platform, and One-stop CDMO Pilot Service Platform for Nanobody and mAb Drugs, were awarded the qualification of Pilot Test Base of the Beijing Economic-Technological Development Area in 2019.  

Among them, Yizhuang Biological Medicine Park GMP Pilot Service Platform has 1,100 square meters of gene therapy (virus vector) production line and antibody vaccine pilot production line, and 384 square meters of small molecule oral solid preparation production line with D-class clean environment. In the past three years, a total of 30 pilot services have been provided for 23 enterprises. The One-stop CDMO Pilot Service Platform for Nanobody and mAb Drugs is operated by Etinpro (Beijing) Co. Ltd., which has a 1*500L recombinant protein drug pilot production workshop, a 1*200L antibody drug pilot production workshop, and a GMP Small capacity sterile preparation workshop.
