Beijing Economic-Technological Development Area

Beijing Economic-Technological Development Area (BDA) is a highland of high-end manufacturing in Beijing. As the innovation-driven platform of "three science cities and one hi-tech area", BDA has formed holistic industry ecology with four pillar industry clusters, namely, next-generation IT, new energy intelligent vehicle, biotechnology and big health, and robotics and intelligent manufacturing. Down the road, BDA will closely follow the trends of science & technology innovation and focus on sectors that are "high-end, precision-based and advanced". BDA will strive to make breakthroughs in core technology and equipment in major, strategic industries, spare no efforts to cultivate a group of innovation-driven enterprises with global clout and stay laser-focused to foster BDA into a globally influential area for commercialization of science & technology achievements, an exemplary area for technological innovation, a pioneer area for further reform, a home to sophisticated industry and a green area that is both livable and business-friendly.

As per official approval of "E Town Planning (National Land Space Planning) (2017-2035)" from People's Government of Beijing Municipality, E Town is scheduled to cover an area of 225 square kilometers and the number of its permanent residents will be within 892,000, and its urban and rural construction land coverage will be within 133.4 square kilometers by 2035.

In 2019, BDA's GRP reached CNY 193.28 billion, recording an increase of 8.9% year on year, and output from industries above designated size totaled CNY 418.3 billion , showing a 9% yearly growth. Installation and construction investment reached CNY 12.66 billion, realizing 1.1% growth year on year, and tax revenues totaled CNY 60.46 billion (over 9 billion year-round reduction in tax and fees), obtaining 1.5% annual growth.
