Fengtai will free up 23 million square meters of industrial space centering on the Three Key Regions (Beijing Lize Financial Business District, Zhongguancun Fengtai Science Park, Capital New Business District) and the Four Key Sectors (emerging finance, technology services, rail transit, aviation and aerospace). This will serve to accelerate the development of the Integrated National Demonstration Zone for Opening up the Services Sector.

Boasting the most abundant spatial resources and the greatest potential in the central urban area of Beijing, Fengtai District will free up 23 million square meters of industrial space; 18 million square meters to the east of Yongding River and 5 million square meters to the west of the river.

Fengtai also has obvious advantages in terms of regional transportation. It has three major railway stations: Beijingxi Railway Station, Beijingnan Railway Station, and Fengtai Railway Station. The subway network is the third most dense in the entire city. With the construction of Lize Terminal officially underway, Fengtai will only become further connected to the world.

In recent years, Fengtai has witnessed the emerging benefits of industrial agglomeration and the superposition of favorable policies. The service industry accounts for more than 85 percent of the district's GRP. With three rounds of action plans focusing on Beijing's southern area, Fengtai has implemented 240 projects concerning infrastructure, public service, and industrial development. As the major area in which a new round of the action plan can be further implemented, Fengtai will scale up efforts to invest in key sectors and more rapidly release the potential of development.

During the 14th Five-Year Plan period, Fengtai, by seizing opportunities brought about by the "two zones", will promote high-quality development in main functional areas and construct a modern industrial system that faces towards the future. It will improve the financial supporting capabilities, technology innovation capabilities, cultural influence, and the competitiveness of business within the district. In doing so, it will do everything it can to set an example of opening-up and development in Beijing.
