Longqing Gorge is located at the mouth of Gucheng River in the northwest of Gucheng Village which is in the northeast with a distance of 10 kilometers from the downtown area of Yanqing District. It is 85 kilometers away from downtown Beijing. Since its opening in 1984, Longqing Gorge has received tens of millions of tourists from home and abroad. In 2002, Longqing Gorge was rated as a national AAAA-level scenic spot. It has many mountain peaks, and the scenery is beautiful. The 7-kilometer-long gorge has both the beauty of Southern China and the majesty of the North, and is known as the "little Lijiang River" of Beijing.
