Vice Mayor Jin Wei
Mr. Jin Wei was born in Changzhi, Shanxi Province in May 1972, of the Han nationality. He joined the Communist Party of China in December 1992 and started his career in July 1994. Mr. Jin received a bachelor's degree (majoring in ferrous metallurgy) from Northeastern University, a master's degree of business administration, and holds the professional title of Professor-level Senior Engineer. He now serves as Deputy to the 13th National People's Congress, Vice Mayor of the People's Government of Beijing Municipality, a member of the CPC Leadership Group of Beijing Municipal Government.
Responsibilities: Mr. Jin Wei is in charge of science and technology, and the supervision and administration of state-owned assets.
Mr. Jin Wei oversees the work of Beijing Municipal Science & Technology Commission (Beijing Municipal Bureau of Foreign Experts Affairs), State-Owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the People's Government of Beijing Municipality.
Mr. Jin is also in charge of liaison with Beijing Association for Science and Technology.
The previous leadership positions Mr. Jin Wei held include: Deputy Chief of the No.3 Steel Plant of Shougang Group; Chief of the No.2 Steel Plant of Beijing Shougang Co. Ltd; Secretary of CPC General Party Branch and Chief (concurrent) of the Steel Plant of Shougang Qian'an Iron & Steel Co., Ltd; General Manager and First Deputy Commander of construction of Shougang Qian'an Iron & Steel Co., Ltd; Vice President of Shougang Group; Deputy Secretary of CPC Leadership Group, Deputy Director General, and then Director General of Beijing Municipal Bureau of Economy and Information Technology; the Party Committee Secretary and Chairman of Shougang Group; Secretary General of the People's Government of Beijing Municipality, and Head of the General Office of the People's Government of Beijing Municipality.
